Model and Story - Mystére Storm

On March 8, 1969, Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser Hussein declared the end of the ceasefire with Israel and, simultaneously, the official beginning of the War of Attrition. President Nasser wanted to retake the entire Sinai Peninsula, lost in 1967, and thus erase the shame of the previous military defeat, by effectively wearing down the Israeli army. Egyptian and Israeli fighters clashed in the skies. The following day, the War of Attrition claimed its first illustrious victim, when Israeli mortars killed the Egyptian Chief of Staff, General Riad, in a bunker near Ismailia.
